Raghib will continue to lead as a champion for equality in Connecticut!
Raghib Allie-Brennan was elected to the Connecticut House of Representatives in 2018. At 28-years-old, he became one of the youngest legislators in the state, as well as only the 2nd openly LGBTQ elected official in the State legislature.
Allie-Brennan was raised in Bethel, CT and graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 2013. He served as an energy and environmental policy advisor in the US House of Representatives for Congresswoman Alma Adams from 2014 – 2016.
As a State Representative, Allie-Brennan has championed various policy initiatives including: establishing the LGBTQ Health and Human Services Network; prohibiting the use of Gay and Transgender Panic Defense in criminal cases; and increasing access to preventative and prophylactic (PrEP) interventions for minors at risk of exposure to the human immunodeficiency virus by allowing physicians and advanced practice registered nurses to provide PrEP to minors without parental or guardian consent.
