Al will be the youngest, and only out LGBTQ+, member of the Cleveland Heights City Council!
Al Snodgrass began his political involvement at 16 years old, organizing his neighbors in the public housing complex he lived in for a community meeting to address a number of community issues. Through organizing this activity, Al was then introduced to the Mayor of his community, which fueled his passion to pursue a career in politics. Al is a recent graduate of Cleveland State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science and is currently working towards an MBA. He is an Elected Member of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party Central and Executive Committee(s), serves as Secretary of Cleveland Heights Democrats Board of Trustees, serves on the Citizens Advisory Committee for the City of Cleveland Heights, a former Board Member of Future Heights, CDC; and was appointed by city council to the Cleveland Heights Charter Review Commission, where he served as Vice-Chair. Al’s experience also includes working on Former Democratic U.S. Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge’s campaign team, co-managing The Team To Elect Cheryl Stephens, working on the Cuyahoga County Health and Human Services Levy and various other grass-roots campaigns/projects.
