Alton will unseat an anti-LGBTQ incumbent!
Alton Wang knows that public education, particularly community colleges, opens doors. Community college played a key role for both of Alton’s immigrant parents in their American story. They supported each other in classes at Pasadena City College, which provided opportunities for his dad to improve his English and for his mom to earn credits that eventually enabled her to earn a degree from Cal State Fullerton. Both his parents have built on these experiences to start small businesses serving our communities. His parents raised him in Arcadia because of our community’s renowned public schools. He attended Longley Way Elementary School, Dana Middle School, and ultimately graduated as a salutatorian from Arcadia High. Public education has made Alton’s past and presents a reality. Now, he is running for Pasadena City College Board of Trustees representing Arcadia Unified to ensure that all future students and families can benefit. Alton has continuously worked to open as many doors for others as were opened for him and his family. As an organizer, he drove record voter turnout among Asian American communities in California and across the nation to increase our political representation. As a policy advisor, he worked to ensure that all immigrants have the opportunity to succeed in America. Today, he advocates for expanding voting rights and fairer representation to guarantee that all Americans can access their right to vote. As a Trustee, Alton will pioneer a new vision for PCC that builds the college into one that is ready for our stronger future.
