Biography
Antoine Smith-Rouse is a dedicated educator, passionate advocate, and experienced leader committed to making a positive impact in Boone County. With a unique blend of personal and professional experiences, Antoine brings a comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape and the diverse needs of our community.
As a father of nine children—ranging from preschoolers to young adults—Antoine has firsthand experience navigating the complexities of the education system. His family, a beautiful blend of foster, adopted, and biological children, each with their own unique needs and abilities, has shaped his deep commitment to inclusive and supportive educational policies.
Antoine’s professional journey spans over five years in higher education, where he has held various roles, including student-facing and leadership positions. His work involves partnering with high schools across the region to help students achieve post-secondary success and gain essential life skills. Additionally, Antoine’s involvement on multiple Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) councils has honed his policy and advocacy expertise.
A passionate community advocate, Antoine has been actively involved in numerous organizations and initiatives. His dedication to service includes volunteering with Junior Achievement, serving on the Longbranch Elementary SBDM, and participating in Engage Boone County. Antoine’s work has consistently focused on empowering students and strengthening the ties between schools and the community.
Antoine is running for the Boone County School Board District 2 to ensure that every student, regardless of their ability, need, or circumstance, has the opportunity to thrive. His campaign is centered on three core priorities: Quality Education for All, Safe and Supportive Schools, and Transparent and Accountable Governance.
Antoine is a staunch advocate for diversity and inclusion, working tirelessly to represent and support all families in Boone County. His commitment includes promoting culturally responsive teaching, enhancing language support programs, and fighting against discrimination in all its forms.
