Benjamin is one of the youngest openly LGBTQ elected officials in the United States

Biography

Benjamin has served on the Village Board since 2019. Elected at age 18, and sworn-in at age 19, Benjamin is the youngest elected official in New York and the only LGBTQ person elected to the Village Board in Johnson City.

During his time on the Village Board, Benjamin has been an advocate for government transparency, fiscal responsibility, and community engagement. Benjamin serves on the Public Safety and Joint-Sewage Treatment Plant committees.

Benjamin is a graduate of Johnson City High School, and is currently a sophomore at SUNY Oneonta studying Political Science and pre-law.

Benjamin is seeking reelection in 2020, and looks forward to continuing to serve the residents of Johnson City.
