Biography

Marcus Brown is a three-term Bridgeport City Councilman. First elected in 2017, Marcus has fought and won on behalf of homeowners who were victims of the predatory practices of the Water pollution control authority, which resulted in the illegal foreclosures of homes without due process. Marcus has fought for senior citizens and most recently passed the Senior tax relief program which allows our most vulnerable to receive discounts on their taxes commensurate with their annual income. Marcus has risen up the ranks of the Bridgeport City Council and has served as the Vice President of the City Council for the last 2 years. Marcus is also the Co-Chair of the Ordinance Committee, the Ad Hoc redistricting committee, and the Governance committee. Professionally Marcus works as the Workforce Development manager for Avangrid Renewables’ offshore wind project “Park City Wind” which will power 400,000 homes in Connecticut. Marcus owns his home with his fiancée Tom and their two dogs Maverick and Goose.
