CM will add an LGBTQ voice to the Newport City Council

CM Hall has been a tireless community organizer for LGBTQ justice for over two decades. A proud lifelong Oregonian and an out educator, CM is also a certified sign language interpreter and also teaches LGBTQ Studies and DeafBlind Culture courses at Western Oregon University. CM has long been an interpreter educator and leader in the interpreting field.

For six years she chaired the Basic Rights Oregon Equality PAC, working to elect pro-LGBTQ candidates to all levels of office and now is achieving a longheld dream to be a Victory Fund-endorsed candidate. If elected, CM would be the only woman serving on the City Council and the first out LGBTQ person on the council. She currently serves on the Newport Budget Committee and Finance work group and loves to volunteer at The Lemonade Project, making lemonade at the Newport Farmers Market to support the SNAP food assistance program.

CM chose to make Newport her home and believes in the possibilities for a strong a vibrant community where everyone can live, learn, work, and play.
