Chad Cardillo

Meriden City Council , At-Large

Chad will be the first out LGBTQ+ person elected to the Meriden City Council!

Chad is a fourth-generation Meriden resident and former City Councilor with over two decades of service to the community. Even before earning his Eagle Scout rank from Troop 43 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Chad realized the importance of giving back in as many ways as possible. Since then, he has served on multiple boards, including currently as president of the Board of Directors of Girls, Inc. of Meriden and on the board of the Meriden Hall of Fame. He was honored to serve as an At-Large City Councilor in 2021 and is a member of the Meriden Planning Commission. He is also a proud Maloney High School teacher and was elected Secondary Vice President of the Meriden Federation of Teachers by his colleagues. Chad has proven himself to be dedicated to making a positive impact on our city. He understands what it takes to make a difference for Meriden — because that’s what he does every day.
