Biography

Carey McDonald is a two-term City Councillor At-Large in the diverse city of Malden, MA. Carey is committed to building a more inclusive, dynamic and livable community, focusing on core city services, climate action, affordability and racial equity. They helped develop Malden’s first Climate Action Plan, and implement the Malden Community Electricity program to protect consumers and improve renewable energy use. As chair of the Finance Committee, they focus on long-term financial sustainability for the city. Carey has degrees in economics and management, and professionally serves as Executive Vice President of the Unitarian Universalist Association. They live in Malden with their spouse and two kids, who attend Malden Public Schools.
