Biography
Charles “Charlie” Judge is a chef, social services worker, and human rights activist who has spent the majority of the last 10 years working with children and families in crisis and feeding hungry people. In addition to direct care in social services, Charlie has a penchant for addressing food insecurity through activist channels and mutual aid organizations such as Food Not Bombs and Feeding Chittenden. He is a graduate of the Sarasota Military Academy and the University of South Florida – Tampa, where he earned a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences. His understanding of life in poverty, greater sociological trends, and experience in direct-care roles in the systems that affect marginalized people has allowed him to be well-rounded with experience and perspectives. Charlie is thoughtful, community-focused and a coalition builder. He understands the many facets of living in Winooski as a renter, community member, service worker, and organizer. He is a balanced listener and communicator and appreciates the nuance of the complex issues facing our city as it develops in the next decade and he aims to uplift the oppressed, give voice to the disenfranchised, and listen to the people who reside in the special little city of Winooski, Vermont.
