Brion Curran

Minnesota House of Representatives, District 36B

Brion will provide important LGBTQ representation in the Minnesota legislature!

Brion was born in St. Paul and grew up in a household where caring for others was a way of life. She began her career in the nonprofit world two days after high school graduation in 2003. Brion still works for this same nonprofit organization serving people with developmental disabilities in the Northeast Metro Twin Cites area. She is currently a Senior HR Generalist and resides in Vadnais Heights with her wife of 9 years.

Brion finished her Associate’s degree in Law Enforcement in May 2014. Six months later, Brion joined the White Bear Lake Police Department as a Volunteer Police Reserve Officer. In March 2016, Brion was promoted to Reserve Sergeant.

As a Police Reserve Sergeant, Brion enjoyed connections with the community, helping people in times of need, training other reserve officers, and eventually, answering calls as a 911 Dispatcher. She left the WBLPD to accept a position as a Deputy Sheriff. In May 2018, Brion completed her Bachelor’s degree Criminal Justice.

Brion left public safety voluntarily after enduring PTSD. She is still passionate about public safety and grateful to bring her education and experiences to the State Capitol. As Brion searched for more ways to be involved with the community, she contemplated running for City Council or Mayor of Vadnais Heights. In March 2022, Brion made the bold decision to run for the MN House of Representatives. As an elected State Representative, Brion will once again serve the community with honor, integrity and dedication.
