Robert Doran-Brockway

City of Owosso County Commissioner, 2nd District

Will be an essential voice for LGBTQ equality!


Born and raised in New York City of Puerto Rican and Irish decent, Robert Doran-Brockway has been a resident of Owosso, Michigan for the past seven years. In that time, he has completely immersed himself in the business of this community as an ambassador, representative and cheer leader. With a wide-ranging background of careers that includes 10 years as a professional opera singer, 17 years as a Wall Street consultant, eight years as an entrepreneur and business owner and 20 years as an artist, Robert was the Executive Director of the Owosso Historical Commission for five years, managing and maintaining the city’s four museums. During that time, Robert also served for five years on the Downtown Owosso Farmers Market Board, five years with the Cook Family Foundation Nonprofit Capacity Building Program, four years on the Shiawassee Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Board, four years as an Ex Officio on the Downtown Owosso Main Street Board, two years on the Owosso Amphitheater Board, two years on the St. John’s Food Pantry Board, two years on the PFLAG Board, one year on the Shiawassee Art Center Board and one year with the Owosso Rotary Club. Robert currently live in Owosso, Michigan with his husband, Bob, and their two pups, Gizmo and Joey. Robert is currently focusing on his art and after the Covid 19 crisis, plans to open an antiques, art and lifestyle gallery in Downtown Owosso.
