Biography

I am running for re-election because I believe I have been able to bring change to my district and the state and I would be honored for the opportunity to keep that momentum going. I believe my role as a board member is to act as a megaphone for my constituents and uplift the needs, concerns and highlight the moments of resilience in my community. I work to support policy changes and bring about board action that supports our most historically and systemically targeted communities. I have worked in the field of clinical care and public health for the last 15 years. I have worked on campaigns for vital measures like Reproductive Health Equity Act (RHEA), Universal Preschool for ALL (UP NOW), Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), Drivers License for ALL, etc. I am currently vice-chair on the MESD Board of Directors (incoming Chair, pending election). I am currently a director on the state school board (OSBA) and at our January board meeting I introduced a proposal to create an LGBTQIA2S+ advisory committee, which passed; this means over the next year I will get to create this advisory committee and hopefully evolve it into an approved statewide caucus.
