Biography

Two-term Gresham City Councilor, progressive champion, and small business owner Eddy Morales is running for Congress in the open third congressional district. On the Council, Eddy has led on innovative public safety and criminal justice reforms, expanding affordable housing, protecting and expanding our green spaces and watersheds, and creating job opportunities in East Multnomah County’s most underserved neighborhoods. Through his work as an organizer and local elected official, Eddy has been instrumental in diversifying the district’s leadership and advancing progressive causes at home in Gresham and across the nation. He is the founder and co-chair of the University of Oregon Latino Alumni Association, Treasurer of the Democratic Party of Oregon, Board Secretary for Planned Parenthood of the Columbia Willamette, founder of East County Rising, and serves on the boards of the Community Catalyst Action Fund, Local Progress, Midwest Academy, Code for Progress and Justice Matters Press. Eddy and his husband, Hugh Harris, live in east Multnomah County in the city of Gresham.
