Biography

Erik is a Manager at a large consulting firm specializing in audit, financial advisory, and strategy. He has managed, conducted, and provided professional peer review for over 650 audits of all kinds, including financial, performance, compliance, equity, information technology, and capital construction audits. He has also reviewed several billion dollars in financials. Erik has worked on audits everywhere from Los Angeles to Washington D.C., from rural Illinois to rural Afghanistan.

He was also a leader in CARES Act and Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) implementation for clients to maintain critical government services (like trash collection, infrastructure maintenance, and public safety) and save small businesses from the brink of collapse during the pandemic.

Erik has served audit clients across disciplines, including global non-governmental organizations, federal agencies, state governments, county and municipal governments, non-profit organizations, small businesses, and private corporations. Erik has also regularly spoken at conferences and conventions on audit innovation and audit technology topics.

Erik has a Master’s of Public Administration from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Public Policy from Kent State University. He maintains memberships and leadership positions in the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), and the Emerging Local Government Leaders (ELGL).

He currently serves on the Denver Health Foundation Next Generation Board. He is a Mile High United Way Catalyst Society member, helping direct over $10 million in grants to nonprofit organizations ranging from public health initiatives to childcare and education services. Additionally, Erik served on the United States Presidential Transition Policy Committees, advising the incoming administration on healthcare and economic opportunity.

Erik lives in Denver with his partner, Garth, and his dog, Maggie.
