Brian will be an important voice for equality on the ANC!

Brian Footer is a third-generation native of the D.C. Metropolitan area and currently lives in Shaw with his puppy, Gus.

Brian was fortunate to find his passion in the health and aging space early in his career. Brian has over 10 years of experience helping seniors age in place with dignity and respect. Currently, Brian is a Healthcare Consultant and works with the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Prior to consulting, Brian worked for the government at the federal, state, and local levels. Brian worked as the Director of Policy, Planning, and Evaluation at the D.C. Office on Aging (now known as the Department of Aging and Community Living). Additionally, Brian was the LGBT Political Coordinator for Speaker Christine C. Quinn’s campaign for NYC Mayor and a Legislative Policy Analyst at the New York City Council’s Aging and Veterans Affairs Committees.

Giving back to the community has been an important activity for Brian since he was a kid. Brian has served the community in various ways over the years, including serving on the board of an HIV/AIDS research foundation in NYC and volunteering at the Victory Fund.

Since moving back to DC in 2014, Brian has been an active member of the LeDroit Park and Shaw communities. Brian was elected Chair of the Ward One Democrats and led the organization during the 2016 election. Brian was elected as ANC Commissioner in LeDroit Park (ANC 1B01) and further served as ANC Treasurer and Chair of the Transportation Committee.
