Biography

Ralph Galvan is running to bring a new vision and voice to the Valley County Water District. Ralph comes from a working-class immigrant family who have become entrepreneurs fulfilling the promise of the American Dream through perseverance, strong work ethic, and dedication.  
 
Ralph’s commitment to public service began when he was just 16 years old and received his first city appointment as commissioner to the City of Baldwin Park, Recreation and Community Services Commission. He was then employed by the City of Baldwin Park for 8 years. Since Ralph has served on the Baldwin Park Planning Commission. Ralph is currently a 48th Assembly District Delegate. His passion for community engagement leads him to volunteer with many profit and non-profit organizations including a region wide leadership position in disaster services, LGBTQ+ pride events, and most recently drive-thru food drives to those impacted by COVID-19.  
 
Ralph is running to fight for his hometown and because the future environmental, social, and economic stability of our cities depends on our access to clean water. From providing a safe and reliable supply of water to all customers at a reasonable cost, expanding water conservation programs and education as climate change threatens our future, and supporting a greater investment in green infrastructure and technology. Ralph wants to ensure the promise of his district’s quality of life, not just for the residents of today, but the generations of residents to come.
