Biography
Michael Gongora is the City of Miami Beach’s first openly gay Commissioner and Vice Mayor now running to be Miami Beach’s first openly gay Mayor. He has spent the last twenty years working to make Miami Beach a better and safer city for all of its residents. He grew up in Miami-Dade County where he earned his law degree from the University of Miami cum laude. He works as a community association attorney and is a Florida Bar board certified attorney in community association & planned development law. He is Florida’s first openly gay Hispanic elected to any public office and has sponsored more LGBTQ+ resolutions and initiatives than any other during his tenure as Miami Beach Commissioner.
