Biography

Andrew Gray has led a life of service. For the past 5 years, he has been caring for Alaska’s veterans at the Alaska VA as a physician assistant. He deployed overseas with the Alaska Army National Guard in2019 as the primary health care provider for the 1-297th Infantry Battalion. * As board member of the Campbell Park Community Council, he took an active role in finding solutions to the problems facing our community. He hosts the East Anchorage Book Club Podcast that seeks to educate listeners about Alaska’s history and politics. He and his husband Jay have a 9-year-old son, and their family attends the Anchorage Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Andrew knows the independent roots of our state and will fight for a return to our values. A year ago, he co-founded the grassroots organization Anchorage Action which has advocated for evidence-based solutions for our houseless citizens, called attention to municipal corruption, and petitioned to protect our public libraries from those that seek to limit access, arbitrarily remove materials, and mistreat career library employees. Andrew is committed to protecting our personal freedoms, standing up for education, demanding fiscal responsibility, and creating strong, bipartisan working relationships.
