Biography

Henry Schwaller, IV, was first elected to the Hays City Commission in 1999 and has served as mayor and city commissioner.

Hays, Kansas is the regional hub of northwest Kansas that provides healthcare, education and shopping for the city’s 21,000 residents, as well as 60,000 residents in neighboring counties. During his tenure, Commissioner Schwaller focused on stabilizing the city’s finances, investing in core services and building a 21st century economy. The city currently has over $50 million in reserves, with approximately $3 million in a “rainy day” fund.

In addition to public service, Mr. Schwaller is an Instructor of Management and Entrepreneurship in the Department of Management at Fort Hays State University and President of Henry Schwaller and Associates, Inc., a real estate investment firm. He is also on the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission.
