Biography

Joy works to build community by establishing relationships based on trust and commitment. Born and raised in Seattle, she is a small business owner, community builder, and food justice advocate. Joy played in college at the University of Arizona. After playing professionally in Athens, Greece she returned to Seattle and earned a Masters in Education from the University of Washington and also worked at a non-profit helping to provide access to sports for youth girls. In 2014, Joy helped start Hollingsworth Farms, a family-owned and operated farm located on Olympic Peninsula that uses solar power, sustainable growing methods, and local resources for plant production. One of the few independent Black-Owned cannabis farms in the country. She is married to her wife Iesha and is a fur mom to their 2-year-old dog Santana. Joy believes Seattle is the best place to raise a family, the opportunity to start a business, grow, learn, best education and resources for our community.
