Biography

Rep. Ian Mackey was first elected to the State House of Representatives in 2018 to serve the 87th district, including the communities of Clayton, Ladue, University City, Richmond Heights and Brentwood. Following the once in a decade redistricting process, he is currently running for his third term to represent the reapportioned 99th House district, which now includes the communities of Clayton, Ladue and Olivette.

In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Mackey is a practicing attorney and former teacher.

He is a 2005 graduate of Skyline High School in Hickory County, Missouri. He later graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, MO with a B.A. in Early Childhood Education, before attaining his juris doctorate from Suffolk University Law School in 2017.

Born in New Haven, Connecticut and raised in the Missouri Ozarks, Mackey currently resides in St. Louis County. He’s an avid tennis player, meal preparer and dog lover – in addition to being an amateur pianist and karaoke singer. He and his husband, Stephen, attend the Church of St. Michael and St. George in Clayton.
