Meet Council candidate John Jackson

John has been a resident of Red Bank for 5 years, relocating here after his daughter graduated and began attending a local university. He adopted and raised his daughter on his own, beginning when she was aged 8.

He has worked in pharmaceutical advertising and marketing for over 25 years, advancing to the position of SVP, Creative Director before becoming a full-time freelance contractor last year.

He has been a dedicated Democrat since he was able to vote, first volunteering for President Bill Clinton’s campaign at the DNC in NYC in 1992. Since then, John has also served on the County Committees of Bergen and Monmouth Counties. He was elected to his seat for Red Bank in 2020.

Passionate about equality, John prioritizes issues that advocate respect and acceptance of all people, such as LGBTQI+ equality, body autonomy/fertility rights, and Black Lives Matter. He is also a member of the Monmouth County Dems LGBTQ Caucus.

John’s devotion to the welfare of those in need includes his volunteerism, which has included Rescue Ridge Animal Rescue of Monmouth and Ocean counties, Lunch Break in Red Bank, and GMHC in NYC.

John received his BA in Communications from Seton Hall and his MA in Communications from William Paterson University.
