Biography
James Johnson is a high school teacher, social justice educator, and environmental activist running for Village Clerk in Skokie, Illinois. They have spent the past 4 years as an elected Village Trustee, serving as Skokie’s lead policymaker for electoral reform, sustainability, affordable housing, and all sorts of progressive causes. They are working to convert Skokie’s partisan Clerk’s Office into a nonpartisan center for civic engagement, and to make Skokie government far more welcoming, transparent, and accessible for all.
