Jordan will maintain LGBTQ representation on the Anaheim City Council.
Jordan Brandman was first elected to the Anaheim City Council in Nov. 2012. On the Council, he led the efforts to successfully hire new police officers and firefighters, opened new parks, reinvested in community services and infrastructure, and created good jobs for residents through collaborative business partnerships.
Previously, Jordan served as a Trustee of the Anaheim Union High School District (AUHSD). In addition, he served as the Chairperson of the Anaheim Public Utilities Board (APU) and as a Trustee of the North Orange County Regional Occupation Program.
During his tenure on the AUHSD Board of Trustees, academic standards improved, graduation rates increased, Anaheim High School was restored to its architectural glory, and Oxford Academy was recognized as the top-ranked high school in the state. While APU Chairperson, strategic programs such as the Underground Conversion program, the renovation of reservoirs, and the use of advanced renewable technologies led to APU’s successful use of clean and efficient utilities.
Jordan has an extensive public policy background, having previously served in the Governor’s Office for the Secretary of Education and the CA State Assembly.
Currently, Jordan is the vice president at a local public policy and strategic government affairs firm focused on economic and infrastructure development. He is a graduate from the University of California, Irvine.
