Biography
Joe was born in Uruguay and moved to Maryland as a toddler. His life story is a reflection of how anything is possible in this country. A community leader turned State Delegate, Joe is now running to represent Central and Western Maryland in Congress because it’s time to send a fresh perspective and a proven problem solver to Washington. He has experience working on national campaigns, having worked for Senator Cory Booker as well as Secretary Hillary Clinton; he started an educational nonprofit that served children of essential workers; and he wrote and passed legislation in the House of Delegates to make historic investments in mental health, combat the rise in hate crimes, and address the fentanyl crisis. As far-right extremists work to undermine our democracy and rip away fundamental freedoms, it’s never been more clear: Now is the time to elect leaders who can deliver.
