Biography
As a legislator, Julie has gone toe to toe with the crooked and powerful because when Texans are on the line, she never backs down. In 2018, Julie unseated the author of the now-infamous Texas Bathroom Bill as a proud LGBTQ Texan and won by double digits. She was then named “Freshman of the Year” by Texas Monthly. In the Legislature, Julie focused on legislation that advocates for consumer protection and increased healthcare access while simultaneously fighting to prevent MAGA Republicans from pushing dangerous legislation that would roll back the rights of Texans.
No candidate in the field can match Julie’s record of taking on the toughest fights. She knows the district, having already represented some of the TX32 electorate. And she’s the only candidate who will be prepared on Day 1 to deliver real results for Texas.
