Sandra will be an important voice for equality as the Akron City Clerk!
Sandra Kurt is honored to serve Summit County residents as Clerk of Courts and is running to bring the conveniences and efficiencies of technology and outstanding customer service to the Clerk of the Akron Municipal Court. Sandra enhanced her fourteen years of public service in elected office with her engineering experience from private industry to make local government work effectively for residents and customers. Sandra has served as Clerk of Courts since January 2016. Under her leadership, the Legal Office has instituted electronic filing and modernized Accounting for the Court of Common Pleas and Ninth District Court of Appeals. Sandra’s concern about the opiate crisis in Summit County motivated her to provide free drug disposal bags at all Clerk of Courts locations. Prior to becoming Clerk of Courts, Sandra served as an At-Large Councilwoman on Summit County Council, a position she held for five years. She was twice elected unanimously by her colleagues to serve as Vice-President of the Council.
