Marni will be the first out LGBTQ+ person elected in West Valley!
Biography
I’m Marni LeFevre and I’m running for West Valley City Council District 1. With a decade of experience as a high school biology teacher and as an advisor for AVID and HOSA, I understand the importance of empowering individuals through education. To ensure my students had access to opportunities that other schools enjoyed, I collaborated with local parks and recreation departments to establish a competitive swim program. I have also served the community as a volunteer ride leader for NICA MTB and as the Director of Community Partnerships for the Utah State Service Center, organizing ESL community classes. It’s through my diverse background and an unwavering devotion to service that I am committed to building a brighter future and illuminating our community together. To build a strong community, we must promote sustainable development, preserve the environment, and encourage civic engagement while demanding stringent fiscal responsibility. If elected, I will continue to advocate for accessible social programs and affordable housing. By prioritizing the needs of all residents and striving to close inequity gaps, I am dedicated to shaping West Valley City into an environment that embraces active community participation and celebrates cultural diversity, where everyone can thrive.
