Dr. Les Zendle will continue to be an LGBTQ leader in Palm Springs
Dr. Les Zendle is a physician who trained as an internal medicine and geriatrics. He practiced for Kaiser Permanente for 31 years — 11 of which was as the Associate Regional Medical Director in the Southern California Region. Since retirement in 2010, he has been a volunteer physician at the only free clinic in the Coachella Valley (serving part of that time as medical director and a board member.
In 2016, he ran and was elected as a Director of the Desert Healthcare District — which owns the region’s public hospital and provides over $4 million in grants to local non-profits to improve the health and wellbeing of the residents of the Coachella Valley. He has championed increased support for the homeless and increased mental health services for all. He supports universal healthcare access for all, as well as non-governmental interference in family planning services including access to abortion.
He is a member of Stonewall Democrats, Democrats of the Desert, Planned Parenthood and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
