Luke will be the first out bisexual leader elected to the Hazel Park City Council!
Luke Londo was appointed to the Hazel Park City Council in February 2021, and is running for his first full term.
Despite being appointed for a partial term only lasting nine months, he is working to implement policies within the city banning discrimination of the LGBTQ community. He is also working to ensure the budget allows for the City’s continued innovation and growth, and that it can attract businesses and families to “The Friendly City.”
Luke is a graduate of Northern Michigan University, where he studied Political Science and Journalism, graduating cum laude. He is additionally pursuing his Master of Public Administration from his alma mater.
In 2020, Luke became a member of the Honorary Leadership Committee for Fair and Equal Michigan, a ballot committee seeking to amend Michigan’s Elliot-Larsen Civil Rights Act to include protections for sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.
Luke and his wife reside in Hazel Park, where they own a home. Luke works in Public Relations for a Detroit-based organization, where his portfolio encompasses philanthropic endeavors, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and major activations and sponsorships.
