Biography

Maggie Trevor was born and raised in Rolling Meadows and educated in the area’s public schools. She attended the University of Chicago, earning a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in political science.

After a research fellowship at the Government Data Center at Harvard University, she taught political science at the University of Iowa. She left academia in 1999 and worked as a market researcher, primarily in the health care field, first with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals in Oakland, California, and later with Blue Shield of California. In 2011, she joined YouGov America, an internet public opinion firm in Silicon Valley, as an operations executive and as vice president of YouGov Healthcare. In late 2014 Maggie moved back to Rolling Meadows to found Trevor Research Services, LLC, specializing in custom market research.

In 2018, Maggie ran as a Democrat for the Illinois General Assembly 54th House District, losing to four-term incumbent Tom Morrison by 43 votes. Maggie Trevor will run again in the 2020 election cycle for the 54th House seat.
