Biography

Marybeth Lennox-Levins began her career in education 28 years ago through her work in athletics. She spent 11 years in the athletic department at Binghamton University, first as a women’s soccer coach, and then as an administrator, working her way to the position of Associate Director of Athletics. She moved to the Washington, DC area in 2005, where she first served as the Director of Athletics at Trinity University and then spent three years working for the Human Rights Campaign. Marybeth moved to Rutland, VT in 2009 and immediately knew it was the place she wanted to call home and raise a family.

She first served as the Director of Athletics at Green Mountain College, but for the last ten years she has been on the faculty at Castleton University where she both directs and teaches in the Sport Management and Athletic Leadership programs. She is running for the Rutland City School Board to help foster a compassionate, inclusive, and healthy learning community, where each child feels respected, safe, and cared for, and feels ready to pursue their goals. She will serve all students. She will support the hard work the teachers do. She will empathically listen to the concerns of all the stakeholders, but particularly the parents, the teachers and staff, and of course, the students. Her end goal is to shape confident citizens capable of reaching beyond their potential to make positive change in the Rutland and other communities.
