Biography
Jose Matthews is a current school board member in the Red Clay School District, Delaware’s largest. He was the first out gay Latino elected to the Board in 2018 and is currently working on his reelection. His campaign focus is on improving school funding streams, improving family engagement, and attracting and recruiting more educators to the district. Jose currently serves as the community liaison for the Rockford Center, a mental health facility in Newark, Del. He lives with his husband, Michael, in Wilmington, Del.
