Nate will bring important representation to Sacramento!

Biography

Nate Pelczar, a candidate for Sacramento City Council (District One), is a community organizer, an accomplished LGBTQ+ community leader, and proud Sacramento resident. He’s lived in District One since 2010 with his husband and two rescue dogs. Since graduating from Indiana University with a Master of Public Affairs degree, Nate has worked much of the last 17 years as a government advisor serving local, state, and federal clients and as a project manager, auditor, and budget expert. His years of work in state and local public policy, his career in financial management, and his strong regional network of supporters will allow him to not only effectively lead District One, but also to hit the ground running on Day One.

Nate’s current employment is also his passion project: he helps run the California Product Stewardship Council, a California-based environmental nonprofit that advocates for state and local policies that improve the environment and save taxpayers money. His involvement on a number of state and local boards have allowed him to strengthen his support in Sacramento and across California. He served as Member and Chair of the Natomas Unified School District Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee from 2014-2019, is a founding member and current Vice President of the Natomas Democratic Club, currently serves on the board of the Stonewall Foundation of Greater Sacramento, currently serves as Treasurer of the North American Hazardous Materials Management Association – California Chapter, currently serves on the board of Sacramento Stonewall Democrats, and currently serves on the board of the Solid Waste Association of North America – Gold Rush Chapter. He has the heart of a true community servant: his desire to serve and improve his community for future generations shows through his work locally and across the great state of California.
