Yoni will be an LGBTQ leader in the Illinois State House
Jonathan “Yoni” Pizer is excited and proud to be running to represent the 12th District in Illinois General Assembly. Originally from Madison, WI (where he was an early supporter of US Senator Tammy Baldwin), Yoni graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Economics and went on to earn an MBA from Kellogg at Northwestern University.
A Chicago resident for over 33 years, Yoni has spent decades supporting LGBTQ and progressive politicians, institutions and causes. Five years ago, Congressman Mike Quigley recognized Yoni’s standing in the community and enlisted him to serve as his Community Liaison, regularly meeting with community leaders to ensure their concerns are heard and the Congressman champions their issues in DC. Yoni’s commitment to open and honest government parallels Congressman Quigley’s political track-record, and Yoni looks forward to making government and ethics reform a key tenet to his platform.
In addition to Yoni’s extensive political background, Yoni has started two small businesses in the district, and support for small business and job creation are key issues in his campaign. Yoni and his husband Brad Lippitz have been together for over 33 years, 27 of which in the 12th district. They have two teenage sons: Max, a sophomore at the University of Chicago, and Jack, a junior in high school. Max and Jack are fourth generation members of Anshe Emet, a synagogue a few blocks from their home in the 12th district’s East Lakeview neighborhood.
