Biography

Rebecca Kislak is a first-term State Representative, representing District 4 in Providence. She is a champion for gender equity, LGBTQ+ rights, public schools and good government. Among other initiatives, she is proud that Rhode Island passed legislation to codify Roe v. Wade in 2019; and she continues to work to ensure that Rhode Island family law is updated to recognize the many ways families are formed by co-sponsoring and advocating for the adoption of the Uniform Parentage Act.

Rebecca is an attorney with years of experience in social services and healthcare policy. She has used her legal skills to advocate for children at Hasbro Hospital through Rhode Island’s Medical-Legal Partnership at Rhode Island Legal Services. Rebecca also served as Policy Director and Counsel at the Rhode Island Health Center Association. Today, she is the President of Kislak Consulting.

Rebecca is married to Dr. Joanna Brown and they have two children, Ezra and Simon.
