Allan Richards

Allan Richards has dedicated much of my life to public service. Working as the Legislative Director for Assemblymember Harry Bronson for the last 14 years and as a member of Assemblymember Susan John’s staff, for nearly 10 years, as her Director of Public Affairs, he has first-hand experience working directly with families who call the greater Rochester area home. The experience of working alongside Susan and Harry has taught him that together we can find community-based solutions that advance us closer to equality and justice for all. Allan and his husband John are longtime residents of the Eastside. For nearly twenty years we lived in the Wadsworth Square neighborhood and we were very active in the neighborhood association building a better community for the families of Rochester and currenly live in the Town of Irondequoit. Allan served on the Rochester Planning Commission reviewing developers’ projects and reaching agreements on their designs to ensure the use was compatible with Rochester’s Master Comprehensive Plan.Currently Richards serves Irondequoit as a member of the Planning Board. He has also served as Vice-Chair of the County Party and Leader of the 23rd Legislative District for almost 12 years collectively.
