Mitch will be yet another strong voice for equality in South Florida!


Originally from Maryland, Dr. Mitch Rosenwald is a seven-year resident of Oakland Park and a 14-year resident of Broward County. In Oakland Park, he serves as the President of the Neighborhood Coalition of Oakland Park, the President of the Corals of Oakland Park Neighborhood Association, a graduate of the Local Government Academy, and a member of the Kiwanis service organization, Census Committee, and Volunteer Corps. In April 2020, he created and hosts the Oakland Park Community Check-In. This is a podcast that provides guest speakers, education and support to Oakland Park residents and others during the pandemic.  
Mitch is a Professor of Social Work at Barry University, a Florida licensed clinical social worker, and earned a PhD and Masters’ degrees from University of Maryland and Syracuse University, respectively. In Broward County, he volunteered with Broward Partnership for the Homeless and served as Guardian ad Litem. He is the Past President of the National Association of Social Workers, Florida Chapter and was recognized as “Social Worker of the Year.” Mitch has presented and published on a range of topics including social work practice with LGBTQ populations, child welfare, and political ideology in social work.
