Biography
Born in Mexico City, Ari came to Los Angeles at the age of 10. The son of a home care worker, Ari became a community advocate and served on the LA Commission for Children Youth & Their Families. An LGBTQ+ leader and former Neighborhood Council member, he has more than 15 years of experience working for some of the most dynamic leaders in LA, including Congresswoman Maxine Waters and LAUSD Board Member Steve Zimmer. Ari is running for State Assembly because working-class people deserve a working-class champion representing them. Ari is a former undocumented student, a proud gay man, the son of a former undocumented worker, and a proud renter. Ari is running for California State Assembly because he believes everyone deserves to have their voice heard and their needs met. As Assemblymember, he will fight fearlessly to: address housing and food insecurity in our communities, champion and protect Reproductive rights, keep our neighborhoods safe, and protect our communities from gun violence.
