Jimmy will be the first out LGBTQ+ person to serve on the Luzerne County Council!
Biography
Sabatino was born in Hazleton, where his family has run a popular restaurant since 1975. Currently, Sabatino and his siblings, Donald and Jenna, own and operate the three Vesuvio’s locations across Luzerne County in Hazleton, Drums, and Wilkes-Barre.
Growing up in the family business, his parents and grandparents instilled in him the values of hard work and community service.
Over the years, Sabatino has volunteered with the United Way, Commission on Economic Opportunity, and Catholic Social Services to prepare and deliver meals to those in need of them. During the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sabatino and his family made and donated meals to essential workers and first responders.
He has served as Luzerne County Democratic Party First District Chair since 2019. He is also active with Action Together NEPA as a member of the organization’s advisory council. He is a member of the Hazleton Rotary Club.
