Shawn will be the only openly LGBTQ member of the Dublin City Council

He currently serves as a Master Chief Petty Officer in the Navy Reserve and is assigned to an intelligence unit at Camp Parks.
Early in his military career Shawn attended the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Monterey, California, receiving an Associate of Arts in Chinese Mandarin. While serving on Active Duty, he completed a Bachelors Degree by attending school part-time and then went on to get a Master of Science in Instructional Science and Technology at CSU Monterey Bay. His areas of expertise are in adult learning, training, and professional development and he currently works as an instructional design consultant for PG&E. His recent military assignments include training management at United States Central Command and United States Cyber Command.
