Steve Remming is running for South Plainfield Borough Council because he is passionate about municipal policy and how it affects people, with a particular focus on children and families. The zip code we live in is often one of the key factors in determining life success – your housing, your schools, your jobs, and your opportunities. Steve is running to make raising a family in South Plainfield easier for everyone working hard, but finding it more difficult than ever to get ahead.

Steve has worked for more than a decade in the wine and spirits distribution and importing business. Prior to that he owned a catering company and specialty foods store in New York City and ran several local small businesses. Steve has been active in politics and public policy since his college days. This includes working on a number of local, state and federal campaigns including for former Secretary of State John Kerry.

His priorities include a true community swimming pool, expanded after school and summer programs for kids, a revitalization of the downtown core and a comprehensive traffic safety program. Steve believes that in order to strengthen our communities at the local level, we must make them as inclusive and affordable for residents as possible.

Steve and his partner Dree live on Delmore Avenue in South Plainfield with their two boxers, Lady and Rudy.
