Summer will be the first out LGBTQ person to serve on the Pulaski County Quorum Court!
Summer Campbell is a Hairstylist and Small Business Owner, Democratic Activist, dedicated volunteer, and a proud Gay woman. Born and raised in Paragould, a small town in Northeast Arkansas, she moved to Central Arkansas when was 17 and has lived there ever since. She has worked as a hairstylist since 2003, receiving the honor of “best hairstylist” from Little Rock publication Soiree Magazine in 2010. In the wake of the 2016 election, she answered a call she’s always felt and decided to get involved in Politics. In 2017, she became a full member of Pulaski County Democrats, becoming Membership Chair and subsequently elected First Vice Chair. She later served as Pulaski County Clerk Terri Hollingsworth’s campaign manager in Hollingsworth’s successful election bid in 2018, using her campaign training she received from the Victory Institute. In that election, Terri became the first ever black woman elected to Pulaski County wide office, and received more votes in Pulaski than any other Democrat on the ballot. Recently, Summer has served on Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott’s advisory subcommittee and has been selected into Class XXXVII of Leadership Greater Little Rock. When she’s not styling hair or campaigning for progressive causes, she’s volunteering with Jericho Way, a local homeless resource non-profit. She currently lives in Little Rock with her partner, Adrienne, and their two cats and two dogs.
