Tommy is the first out LGBTQ+ man on the board of education in District 60!
Biography
Born and raised in Pueblo County, Tommy is proud to call Pueblo home. Tommy attended public schools in both Districts 60 and 70 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University – Pueblo. Since graduating, he has worked to improve the lives of Puebloans throughout his career.
Tommy served Southern Colorado youth as a District Executive with the Boy Scouts of America, teaching youth the importance of leadership through service while gaining experience balancing budgets, managing staff resources, and building community relations.
Presently, Tommy owns a power line engineering firm, a position that has given him a working knowledge of the electric utility industry as well as continuing to develop his skills in finance, managing resources, and building relationships.
Tommy has also been involved with many different organizations and nonprofits in Pueblo. He is currently the president of the Southern Colorado Equality Alliance – Pueblo’s LGBTQ+ advocacy organization. He is also serving as chair of the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center Board of Trustees. He has a passion for helping others through volunteer work.
Tommy is a member of IBEW Local 111, Pride at Work, and a delegate to the Southern Colorado Labor Council.
Since being elected to the District 60 Board of Education in 2019, Tommy has served the board as Vice President and currently serves as President.
