Biography
Val Laymon and her wife Jean live in Bloomington, IL with their pack of rescue and foster dogs. She is a Senior Manager of Talent Development in the fast-casual restaurant industry and is also on the Leadership Council of her local inclusive United Methodist Church, Hope. As a two-term County Board member, Val has prioritized fiscal responsibility by supporting the use of green energy in county-owned buildings and timely maintenance of county facilities, as well as championing equity for county employees and residents alike. In her free time, she enjoys kayaking at COMLARA Park, scuba diving, reading in her hammock, and otherwise being outdoors. Val looks forward to the opportunity to continue to lead with the lens of sustainability, equity, and responsibility.
