Victor will be the first out LGBTQ person of color elected to local government in Rochester!
Victor has a degree in Civil Engineering Technology and hopes to use his professional skills and community engagement to bring progressive change to his community.
Victor is a long time LGBTQ activist and has been actively engaged in his community of Rochester NY. He is running for an At-Large seat which covers the entire City of Rochester. If elected he would be the first openly gay Latinx person elected and first Naturalized citizen elected to local office.
Victor was born in Mexico and recently became an US citizen in 2018. In 2019 I ran for Monroe County Legislator, seven months after becoming a Citizen. He decided to run for office because, as an immigrant and as a gay man, he had firsthand experience of the inequalities and injustices that so many people in our community face. He believes it is essential to have diverse representation and visibility in our government and is committed to engaging those that have been disenfranchised and feel forgotten in our Democratic process.
Victor proudly serves on the board of several community organizations such as Trillium Health, which is a Community Health Center with a history on LGBTQ health and HIV health. Victor also serves on the board of the NEW Pride Agenda, which is a statewide LGBTQ advocacy organization.
