William will be an important voice for equality on the Mt. Hood Community College Board of Directors!

Biography

William “Will” Miller (Blackfeet & Cherokee) is a policy strategist, community advocate, and movement builder committed to advancing justice for urban Native communities nationwide. He brings over a decade of experience in passing transformative legislation, building coalitions, and fighting for the communities too often left out of conversations that impact them the most. Will previously served as the Executive Director of the NAYA Action Fund and serves as the Director of Policy and Managing C4 Director for the National Urban Indian Family Coalition (NUIFC). In this role, he leads efforts to shift local, state, and federal systems to better serve Indigenous people living in urban areas. Through his firm, Miller Strategies, he continues to support grassroots organizations, candidates, and progressive campaigns across the country. A Ford Family Foundation scholar, Will earned his degree in Political Science with a focus on law and politics from Oregon State University. His leadership is also rooted in service – he sits on the boards of the Future Generations Collaborative, Oregon Voice for Survivors, and co-chairs the Democratic Party of Oregon’s Native American Caucus. Born and raised in Portland, Will got his start knocking doors at 11 years old. Today, he channels that same energy into organizing bold, values-driven campaigns that center Indigenous sovereignty, racial justice, and community-led solutions – fighting not just for change, but for future generations to thrive.
