Erin Maye Quade
Born and raised in Apple Valley, I’ve always enjoyed a strong connection to my community. Following graduation from Eastview in 2004, I pursued dual majors in Political Science and Justice & Peace Studies, with a minor in Theology at the University of St. Thomas. As an active member of the student government, I worked hard to promote student engagement and an inclusive campus culture. While at St. Thomas, I was inspired by Amy Klobuchar’s political leadership; working for Minnesota’s first elected female Senator motivated me to continue community organizing.
After St. Thomas, I worked on President Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, registering tens of thousands of voters who were newly engaged in civic participation. I returned to Minnesota and continued community organizing for Governor Mark Dayton in my home district during the 2010 election, and then moved to work in the private sector. After three years in the private sector with
Target, I returned to organizing in early 2014 with Congressman Keith Ellison. It was during the 2014 election cycle that I met my wife Alyse, a fellow organizer who has worked on many progressive campaigns throughout Minnesota. Currently, I work as a Community Representative for Congressman Keith Ellison and Alyse continues her work in organizing with Everytown for Gun Safety.
I’m running for State Representative because I believe we can continue to lift up all Minnesotans, so long as policy is guided by people, not partisanship. I am proud of my transparent record of service and am committed to securing a sustainable educational, economic, environmental and equitable future for Minnesota.
