Georgette Gómez and her partner Xochitl have lived in the district for over 10 years. A native San Diegan, Georgette is a first generation Mexican American.
Georgette has served District 9 communities for over 12 years. Currently, she works as the Associate Director at Environmental Health Coalition, an organization fighting for environmental justice in underserved neighborhoods. Georgette also serves her community as a member of the City Heights Area Planning Committee.
Deeply involved in urban communities for over 10 years, Georgette spends her time educating and engaging residents on the importance of clean air and clean water, as well as influencing public policy regarding energy conservation and reducing their carbon footprint to protect quality of life. Just recently, Georgette helped secure over $20 million dollars for walking and biking improvements in her district.
Georgette attended Serra High School and graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Environmental and Natural Resource Geography. She is a proud Lesbian Latina, owner of 2 rescue dogs -- Canela and Frijol, and enjoys going on hikes with her partner and dogs.
